To serve you better, I have moved Debra's List to a new server at
http://www.debralynndadd.com/debraslist/home
There is a lot of hand work I need to do there, so I am leaving this site up until all that work is done.
All new entries will go on the new site.
All the entries from this site are on the new site, but may not be formatted.
Thanks for your patience during this transition.

Green Mountain Spinnery
A variety of organic wool and cotton yarns appropriate for hand knitting, weaving, and machine knitting. Their undyed yarns are well suited to home dyeing. Yarns have minimal processing, which "retains life" in the fibers. Their "greenspun" yarns are washed and spun with vegetable-based soaps and oils rather than the petroleum based products standard in the textile industry. No chemicals are used to bleach, mothproof, shrink proof, or remove chaff. "Our Mission is to produce and sell high quality yarns from natural fibers and design classic Vermont patterns. Transforming the many types of raw fibers into luxurious and long lasting yarn. The Green Mountain Spinnery helps to sustain regional sheep farming, and to develop environmentally sound ways to process natural fibers."

Heart of Vermont
All products are handmade in Vermont from natural fibers. All cotton is organic, FoxFibre™ Colorganic©, low-impact dyed, or untreated. Their pesticide-free wool is washed in hot water and soap, and processed into batting on their own machines without oils or mothproofing. Organic cotton flannel receiving blankets, hand-woven palm leaf-fiber bassinets, cotton and wool futons (with doctor's prescription) heirloom quality "Starry Night" weave cotton baby blanket, and an organic cotton stuffed bear.

True Body Soap
A fragrance-free, dye-free, simple bar of body soap, made from only five ingredients: coconut oil, palm oil, water, vegetable glycerine, and sodium citrate. I tried a bar and both my husband and I love it. And here's some good news--the soap is intentionally priced to be affordable (65% less than other natural bar soaps in per-ounce comparison). Palm oil is sourced from members of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil. Packaging is made from 100% recovered fiber (80% post-consumer), printed with vegetable inks (and no heavy metals). Care has been taken to use less packaging, bar and box were designed to make most efficient use of shipping space to reduce pollution produced per bar.
